FAQs

How many items is too much for baby registry? ›

If you're not confined by limited space, you may want a more extensive baby registry. But is there a specific number of registry items that is just too much? Most people agree that having more than 150 items on your baby registry is too much. Even if you are a first-time mom of twins, you shouldn't need so many things.

What website should I use for baby registry? ›

Babylist is a popular baby-only universal registry. It has a huge inventory on its site and lets you add whatever you'd like from other stores too. It's also a solid place to shop for baby gear in general, even if you aren't putting together a registry.

How many diapers should I put on my registry? ›

The answer to the question “How many newborn diapers do I need?” is fairly straightforward. Newborns may use up to 10 diapers per day. Of course, every child is different, and days can vary, so think about it in terms of weeks and plan for close to 70 diapers each week.

How do I make a baby registry on my baby list? ›

Head to babylist.com and click on “Start Your Babylist Registry” to get started. Once you've registered, it's time for the fun part! You can start adding your wish list of baby items from literally ANY store… from prams and strollers to baby clothes and nursery decor.

Is it OK to put expensive items on baby registry? ›

That said, it's totally acceptable to put some expensive items on your registry. You can list the things you need, including items like car seats and cribs. Pooling together for group presents is popular, and several friends might pitch in to get a stroller or crib.

How many baby bottles should you put on your registry? ›

If you're planning on exclusively bottle feeding, plan to have around six to 12 bottles on hand. This will allow for having a bottle ready to go whenever you need one while you're washing the others. If you'll only be using bottles occasionally, three or four is probably a good number. Caveat: try before you buy!

Do you put baby wipes on registry? ›

When curating your baby registry, consider the different stages of your baby's development. For newborn essentials, include must-haves like diapers, wipes, and onesies. Plan for infant gear such as strollers, car seats, and feeding essentials as your baby grows.

Should I put bottles on my baby registry? ›

Expert Tip: No matter how you plan to feed your baby, be sure to have a couple of bottles on hand. If you pump, you'll need them to offer expressed breastmilk. Even if you don't think you will ever use formula, I do encourage you to keep a small supply for your own peace of mind.

What week should you start a baby registry? ›

You can start early or wait. 20 weeks is a good rule of thumb if you're planning on adding gender-specific things.

When should you have a baby shower? ›

Baby showers can be held at any point but are typically held four to six weeks before the baby's due date. This timing is late enough that the pregnancy is well along but likely early enough to avoid the baby arriving beforehand and disrupting the party plans.

How many gifts are too many on a registry? ›

How many gifts should be on my wedding registry? This age-old question has couples scratching their heads and overthinking their lists, even consulting guides on wedding registry etiquette so they don't appear greedy. But a good rule of thumb is to multiply your guest list by two to get a rough number of gifts to add.

How many items should you have on your registry? ›

The number of items you should include on your registry depends on the number of guests you're inviting! The rule of thumb is to include a little more than 2 gifts per number of guests invited.

Can you put too much on your registry? ›

Be realistic with your registry items.

There's no hard rule about how much is too much, so you'll need to use your own judgment.

How many registries is too many? ›

How many wedding registries is too many? In general, you should not register at more than three stores or online platforms. Anything beyond that is going to be more of a hassle to manage, both for yourself and for your guests.
