Dr. Hood-Olson, DMD

Dr. Hood-Olson, DMD, specializes in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. She was raised in McLeansboro, IL, a small community in southern Illinois about 100 miles east of O’Fallon. She graduated valedictorian of her high school. Then, she attended Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, where she was awarded the Chancellor Scholarship. In addition, she received one of two positions for early acceptance into the School of Dental Medicine.

Upon graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree, Dr. Lauren was recognized with the highest overall GPA for the department of science. She went on to complete her doctorate of dental medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL. She again graduated summa cum laude—the only doctor in her class to earn that honor.

After graduating dental school, Dr. Lauren married Andrew Olson of O’Fallon, IL, and they moved to Rochester, NY. In Rochester, she completed her residency at the Eastman Dental Center Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital.

After their time in Rochester, she and Andrew decided to move back to his hometown to settle down and start a family. Dr. Lauren practiced in the metro-east area for many years before deciding to join Dr. Satrom in 2013 and went on to purchase his practice. Dr. Satrom is a retired colonel from the Air Force and practiced in O’Fallon from 1999 to his retirement in 2013.

Dr. Lauren resides in O’Fallon with her husband and two children: a daughter, Avalinn, and a son, Watkin. When she is not working, she loves spending time with her family and being active in her church and community. She enjoys running, yoga, crafting, and photography. Any chance they get, she and Andrew enjoy cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Blues. Dr. Lauren is also a volunteer for the children’s program at her church. In addition, she is an active member of the chamber of commerce for O’Fallon and Shiloh.

In the future, Dr. Lauren and her family look forward to all the opportunities and experiences that allow them to become even more active in the O’Fallon community.

ARNEY BROWN

I am the laboratory technician here at Olson Orthodontics. I am responsible for the fabrication of all the orthodontic appliances. I received my laboratory training and all advanced training while in the Air Force. I started working here in April of 2002 after retiring from the Air Force, upon 26 years of service, with a cumulative of 36 years of experience in the Dental Laboratory career field. I enjoy working at Olson Orthodontics because I have the opportunity to work one on one with the doctors and the patients. Should a question or concern over an appliance arise, I can speak to the dentist directly. This also allows appliances to be created much faster and delivered to the patients quicker.

CHRISTINE BRANDT

(Front Desk Assistant)

I was born and raised in Illinois. When I had braces at age 12 it really interested me in the dental field. I love this job because I love people. I love to craft- paint, sew, etc. My spare time is spent reading and watching old movies and spending time with family.

DEBBIE BUCHANAN

(Treatment Coordinator)

I was born in Kansas and grew up in Mt. Olive, IL. I got into the dental field when a friend told me how much they enjoyed orthodontics…and I did too!

The best part of working with Dr. Lauren is our patients. Our younger patients can be so cute and funny! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, crafts, and family time!

KRISTA LAM

(Office Manager)

I was born in California and raised in Alton, IL. I had braces from 5th to 8th grade. I loved seeing my orthodontist and how much fun they all had at the office and that got me interested in working in orthodontics. I love working for Dr. Olson. She is honest, compassionate, caring, and always does what is right for her staff and patients. I enjoy running, going to concerts, and spending time with my husband, son, dog, and family.

MIRANDA CABRERA

I was born and raised in Collinsville, Il. A family member introduced me to the dental field, and I had never thought of it. I love it and wouldn’t go back! I love being able to meet new people and to build relationships with our patients. In my spare time, I hang out with my family, watch movies and test my cooking skills.

RENEE BROWN

(Clinical Assistant)

I was born in Montana. I started my career in dental out of pure luck and the need to try something new. I love getting to see kids smile at my job. In my spare time, I make and decorate cakes, I also love going to the zoo with my kids!

SARAH HADER

(Clinical Assistant)

I’m a mother of a daughter and a son. I’m a small-town girl with a big heart. My family and I love camping and family gatherings. I’m new to the orthodontic field but am falling in love with this rewarding job. Dr. Lauren is the best!

LISA TADLOCK

I was raised in Marissa, IL and have lived in Belleville for many years. I started working in the dental field in 1999 and started in orthodontics in 2002. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and my tow adorable Aussies.

I have been in the medical field for more than 32 years, I enjoy listening to all genre’s of music, my favorite is gospel/ Christian.
I have 6 beautiful grandchildren. I love traveling, staying fit, chilling with my husband/ family and most of all serving God.

Deseree Guillen

I was born and raised in California – military spouse – we have lived in 4 different states. I am a mom of
two (Brielle and Chase). I got into orthodontics by pure luck and fell in love with being a part of the
patient journey – seeing the burst of confidence they develop from their new smile is the best and so
rewarding!

Juliane Faulk

Hi! I’m Juliane. I am a military spouse and proud mom of 3. I decided to pursue a career in
orthodontics after I had braces as a young adult. I loved the process from start to finish and the
confidence that blossomed throughout my treatment. I have a genuine desire to make people
feel beautiful in their own unique ways. And I believe a stepping stone to that is a great smile! I
enjoy spending time with my family, traveling the world, and being curled up with a novel on a
rainy day
