CAN YOU REFRIGERATE APPLE CRUMBLE

Leftover Apple crumble can be refrigerated. Store in an airtight container or wrap firmly using cling wrap. Expect the topping to not be crunchy afterward because the oats do get soaked and become softer. If you are making apple crisp ahead, do not add the topping over the filling. Store the topping separately in a ziplock bag and pour over the filling before you place it in the oven to bake.

CAN YOU REHEAT APPLE CRUMBLE

Apple can be stored for later use and reheated at any time. Either reheat using the microwave or pop it back into the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes. If reheating frozen apple crumble, allow it to thaw in the fridge a day before or overnight before baking or reheating.

what can I Substitute for maple syrup, and what can I substitute for cornstarch. Will the easy oatmeal crumble turn out ok ?

    • Rena says

Sub maple syrup with honey or agave. Corn starch is needed so it thickens up. You can try arrowroot powder.

    Hi Rena,

For the nutrition fact, is it per serving or the whole recipe? Thanks.

So I tried this, but the filling came out very dry. Like the apples were completely dry, with no sauce. It still tastes good, but more like a nice version of baked oatmeal rather than a crumble. Do you know what could have gone wrong?

    • Rena says

Hi. Did you make any substitutes to the recipe?

It tastes delicious but I’m confused why mine looks completely different to the pictures. My filling is very dry and just falls apart when I try to scoop it up, there isn’t that nice gooey texture that I hoped for. Do you have any ideas why?

This is the first time I made a crumble using oats and I’m a wheat intolerant so they were gluten free oats. I didn’t measure the ingredients because I was making a small amount for myself but wow!! This was sooo delicious and no sugar or butter!!!Amazing!! Will make this more often as it starts getting colder. Thanks for the recipe
